 March 9, 2022

- war is really bad, and right now escalating in Ukraine

- this will last for a few months

- President Biden and PM Johnson(UK) will stop importing energy products from Russia

(We want to isolate Russia and cut of its revenue from the west)

- most International companies end their operations in Russia (Nike, McDonalds, Starbucks, GM, most banks, Coca Cola, Pepsi, Boeing, Esso, Shell, Chevron)

- but the rest European Union (EU, Germany, France, Italy, Belgium etc) will continue to buy energy products from Russia

- these countries import up to 40% of natural gas from Russia – no other source to supply gas to them

- Canada does not buy energy products from Russia

- Nickel the metal – Russia is the largest producer of nickel – Nickel prices double in 2 days

- we need a lot of nickel to make the electric car /hybrid car batteries

- it will cost more to manufacture electric/hybrid cars (up to a few thousand per car)

- production of these cars will be delayed by at least a few months

- Canada nickel production: Sudbury, Ontario (Google how many tons of nickel did Sudbury mines produce last year):

The Sudbury district has produced more than 176000 tonnes  of nickel, and over 3,200 tonnes of silver, 300 tonnes of platinum and 100 tonnes of gold

- for you to compare: Russia produced 235000 tonnes of nickel last year

- Russian Ruble (Russian currency) – tumble or fall more than 40% in three months

- no one in the world wants to own Ruble – cannot trade or buy stuff with ruble

- the stock market in Moscow is falling very quickly – most do not want to own shares in Russian companies

- wheat: Ukraine is one of the largest wheat producers in the world

- war – no wheat production, price of wheat has gone through the roof

- your bread, pasta and grain products (cereal) will be more expensive (inflation will be higher)

- wars are bad for everyone, and should never have happened. Pray for the people in Ukraine
