Descriptive words for the atmosphere to make it scary

 

Sound

-       Deafening screams

-       He whispers eerily into my ears

-       Thunder roared loudly

-       The old wooden door cracked open slowly with a spooky squeaky noise

-       Wolves howl loudly from far far away

-       What sound do bats make?                                                                                               

 

Light

-       Dark cloud covered the dimly lit Moon (to make it mysterious)

-       Candles light flickered widely with the unexplained strong wind even when the windows were closed

-       Lightning slithered down the cloudy sky over the big city

-       Dark shadow followed me wherever I ventured. It refused to leave me alone

-       Mysterious creatures
