French assignment

Grade 7 Core French: Storybooks Canada Assignment

Students will complete a short reading activity using the website: www.storybookscanada.ca/stories/fr
Choose 4 stories from either Level 2 or 3 (IF those levels are too challenging, then you may do Levels 1 and 2). Audio is also available so you can listen and read along at the same time. While you are reading, please look for 5 words from each story that you don’t know and look up their meaning. You may use google translate to do this. You should have a total of 20 translated words in the end (5 for each story).
Once you have finished reading and making your list, please write a short summary of the each story’s main idea. This only needs to be 1-3 sentences long and you may write in English.
Here is a simple format you can use for each story.
Titre (Title): La poule et le millepatte
Resume (Summary): This story is about a……..
Vocabulaire (5 new words):
1. ex. Le millepatte = centipede
2.
3.
4.
5.
* Please remember the reading strategies we have talked about throughout the year:
1. Use pictures to help you understand what is happening.
2. Look for familiar words you already know in French.
3. Look for words that resemble English words as they almost always have the same meaning.
4. Look up new, unfamiliar words in the dictionary/online (part of your assignment).

Lastly, please submit the assignment and email it to me directly by 3 pm, Tues April 14. You will get checked off as having completed this assignment once I receive it.
