- plot the following equations (sorry, cannot write exponents in blog)
y = x2 (translation: x to the power 2)
y = 2x2 + 1 (translation: 2 times x to the power 2 plus 1)
y = 2x2 – 1 (translation: 2 times x to the power 2 minus 1)

Are these linear equations?  Explain
