 Cost of costruction 1

- draw and calculate the cost of constructions for five structures from the link below

- draw shapes, show calculations

e.g. "2" standing up:                        "2" sitting down

1G x $1000 = $1000                    2G x $1000 = $2000

1R x $750 = $750                        2R x $750 = $1500

8W x $500 = $4000                    6W x $500 = $3000

Total = $5750                                Total = $6500

or

 - spaceship hits asteroids and there is a metre that counts when an asteroid is hit. Automated

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sqsNb0s7Oq4

or

- a bird or seagull drops waste on Kwok's head. Every time a dropping falls on my head, the metre will +1. Automated

You need to complete lesson 4 on the Coding assignment. The video in the blog shows that a spaceship tries to shoot down astroid and there is a number count how many are destroyed.

Kwok's suggestion: Have a bird fly over my head and start to count how many droppings hit my head. This part should be done after the Victoria |Day long weekend , by Tuesday May 20

The number count should be automated when a droppings hit my head.

I will be checking your Coding assignment tomorrow. Have it ready.

This is what I am looking for

1) Three different backgrounds

2) When a character moves to the edge (top, bottom, left or right), it will hop to another background automatically

3) All the codes that allow you to do this

8B, 8C, 8D (Science test, water system)

- by the third week of May (after Victoria weekend, after May 19), you will have a test on water system

- need to know if you are taking good notes in class (open book test)

- a lot of the materials I cover is not in the textbook (water table, Walkerton, Flint, filtration, river and ocean profiles etc)

- should start studying soon

8C Coding homework

 Create a program that:

  1. Has a character that can move around (Challenge: Can you animate the character walking?)

  2. When the character moves to the edge, they will be transported to a different area (See gif below). The transportation does not need an animation, or needs to be in a specific room.

Hint: Look at our previous lesson on ‘The Grid’.

Minimum 3 backdrop from place to place (e.g. Amazon rain forest to Great Wall of China and then to Sahara Desert)

- add sound when the character drops in to a water well

  1. Bonus: Can you put sprites in each of the areas to make the places more lively?
